Our Practice and Philosophy
Our Philosophy is Peace. In order to understand peace, you must understand the Light of Christ.
John 8:12 “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” All concepts of men are stripped away and only the concepts of God are followed. Isaiah 55:8 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher then your ways and my thoughts then your thoughts." |
To understand scripture it must be read with a higher mind.
Matthew 5:39-48 “I tell you the truth, do not resist an evil person. If someone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also and if someone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons (and daughters) of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the righteous and unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others?”
Jesus says this twice in the bible, the second time is in Luke 6:27-36.
Luke 6:27-36: “But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do well to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him. Give to everyone who asks of you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others, as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great and you will be sons of the Most High for he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”
Both Matthew 5:39-48 Luke 6:27-36 illustrate one concept and that is pacifism. As Christ sacrificed his life for holiness, we are expected to do the same and lay down our lives to protect our Light. No violence shall ever come from our hands not even in self-preservation.
This means we Do not Kill. Not even animals, not even for food.
Our diet is ordained by God and comes from Genesis 1:29: “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground, everything that has the breath of life in it, I give every green plant for food.” And it was good.”
In order to live a holy life, we surrender our humanness and conduct ourselves as Light Beings. We follow the code of the commandments and we live virtuous lives to the highest degree. This means we abstain from sexual relations. We do not procreate.
1 Corinthians 7:32-38 “I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s affairs--How he can please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world—how he can please his wife—and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord’s affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world—how she can please her husband. I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord. If anyone is worried that he might not be acting honorably toward the virgin he is engaged to, and if his passions are too strong and he feels he ought to marry, he should do as he wants. He is not sinning. They should get married. But the man who has settled the matter in his own mind, who is under no compulsion but has control over his own will, and who has made up his mind not to marry the virgin—this man also does the right thing. So then, he who marries the virgin does right, but he who does not marry her does better.”
Here, marriage was used in order to sanctify the sexual urge to mate; to make the mating respectable and responsible, but it is far more virtuous to live in undivided devotion to God. Abstinence and devotion go hand in hand.
As we are the Light and have surrendered our humanness, we are perfecting ourselves toward holiness.
"So then, he who marries the virgin does right, but he who does not marry her does better.” Means he who abstains from intimate relations and only has his mind on the Lord, does better. Our minds are only on the perfect holy light of God.
The peace of Christ is the state of holy tranquility and serenity. It is stillness and perfect contentment. The busyness of the human mind and the constant emotional needs of the heart are sacrificed and only the mind of God is allowed to touch us bringing us to enlightened states that are healing and restorative to our heavenly souls.
Our practice is communing with God through the Holy Spirit.
